Sword, Famine, and Drought
Jeremiah 14:1 to 15:21
608 BC During the eleven-year reign of Jehoiakim
The connection between drought and the enemy is very clear in this section. It encompasses a variety of speakers and audiences. But it begins with a description of the drought (to see link click Cj – Judah’s Terrible Drought) and ends with a description of defeat in battle (see Cl – You Have Rejected Me, I am Tired of Relenting), followed by Jeremiah’s fourth complaint (see Cm – Woe to Me, Mother, That You Gave Me Birth). In between we hear of sword, famine, and drought (14:12).
